Why Affirmations don't work for some people

The reason why positive affirmations don't work for some people is that it targets the conscious level of your mind - not the subconscious.
Why do affirmations work?
When you make a declaration in a positive affirmation your subconscious mind is shouting 'it's not true, it's not true'! This can cause an imbalance in your mind, tension in the body and also uses up alot of energy. SO why do we do it and why do some people absolutely swear by it?
Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self sabotaging and negative beliefs.
Why are affirmations so powerful?
In general affirmations are used to reprogram the subconscious mind, they are used to create the reality that we want.
How long does it take for affirmations to work?
Done in the correct way (more on that below) after about 26 to 30 days your beliefs will change. Since the affirmations bypass the conscious mind it is working directly with the subconscious. Since saying an affirmation takes no more than 5 second, the conscious mind does not have the chance to think about it, analyse it or reject it. How ever there is a secret in how to go about doing these little pocket rocket statements.
Signs that you are doing it WRONG
1. You are going through the motions.
For instance, you wake up in the morning, you read through your affirmations quickly and then carry on your day and telling yourself how rubbish everything is and how it's not working.
2. You don't really want your affirmations to be true.
Yes really! This is not a quick fix. You may do them because you have heard that everyone else has been doing them and had amazing results. Or, that when you do go through them there is an inner dialogue totally contradicting what you are saying.
3. You feel like you are lying to yourself.
For instance on this on 'I am a money magnet' affirmation statement. This may not feel right to you. That is fine, don't give up, just take a step down, for example rather than I am a money magnet, use money comes to me in an abundance of ways. When that resonates, step it back up. it's like a temperature dial, you don't want to be boiling hot right away, gradually increase the temperature.
4. You're saying it wrong.
You have to believe in them. Before you even start down the affirmation path you need to decide if you want to change your life. Are you happy with here you are right now, or do you want to develop and grow and see what you can achieve?
Here is a check list that you are saying them right;
Believe in them. Believe that they are already true.
You are reprogramming the subconscious mind, helping it create the reality that you want. You need to make the statements in the present tense. Not 'I want', but 'I am' or 'I have'.
Make the statements in a positive tone of voice, preferably out loud.
Really feel them. Imagine that you already have whatever the statement is. What does it feel like to loose a x amount of lbs, HOW does it feel to have X amount of money in your bank, HOW does it feel to have a full diary of clients, HOW does it feel to be out of debt?
Here are a few examples to get you on your way with making your own.
I trust myself
I am healthy
I am the best at what I do
everyday and every way I am getting better and better
I am beautiful
I am feeling strong
I believe in myself
I believe in, trust and have confidence in myself
It is ok for me to learn as I go
I am a money magnet
