The Divorce, Life & Who Am I Now? Book Club

A three-month online book club for women navigating divorce, rediscovering themselves and exploring what comes next.

A book can help you put words to something you’ve been feeling. A conversation with women who understand can help you feel less alone in it.

Join Kate Schenk for a small, welcoming reading group where we’ll explore divorce and life afterward through three different books. You can share your thoughts, listen to others and take part at your own pace. You don’t need to have finished every page.

Your founding season includes

  • Three books over three months, each opening up a different conversation

  • Six live online gatherings: a relaxed midway check-in and an end-of-month discussion for each book

  • Reflection questions from Kate before each gathering

  • A small group of up to 12 women, with space for everyone who wants to speak

Founding season price: £45 for all three months. Books are purchased or borrowed separately.

The first three books

Month 1 — Breaking Upwards by Charlotte Friedman

An opening conversation about the emotional side of divorce and finding your way through change.

Month 2 — Strangers by Belle Burden

A memoir that invites us to discuss marriage, identity, being heard and finding our voice again.

Month 3 — What She Did Next by Eve Simmons

A chance to explore unexpected endings and the possibilities that follow them.

Why join?

You might be looking for good books, a reason to make time for yourself, or a place to talk about parts of divorce that are difficult to explain to friends. This club offers all three.

Kate will guide each conversation with thoughtful questions and room for different opinions. The aim is to leave with fresh perspectives and a sense of connection, without pressure to share more than you wish.
